The Air Vice-Marshal at Headquarters RAF Support Command writes to Edward Roy Kissack on his retirement from the Royal Air Force in 1989.

Dear Warrant Officer Kissack,

The Air Force Board of the Defence Council wish me to send to you, on the occasion of your retirement, their appreciation and thanks for the service you have given to the Royal Air Force throughout your career.

Thank you for your excellent work in support of communications analysis, in particular the outstanding contribution you have made in the field of military intelligence. Additionally your off duty work as an Amateur Athletics Association Official has benefited other Servicemen greatly and has been reflected proudly in Inter-Service and National competitions. I am especially pleased to note that your exceptional qualities and abilities were recognised through the awards of a Meritorious Service Medal, 2 Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Commendations and a Commendation from the Air Officer Commanding Hong Kong.

Your record shows the valuable contribution you have made during your many years service and the high regard in which you have been held. I am sure that this record will stand you in good stead in civilian life.

To the appreciation of the Air Force Board may I add my own best wishes tor the future.
